Charming Mountain Contemporary Retreat In Jackson Hole, Wyoming

This mountain contemporary retreat was designed by architecture studio JLF & Associates, located in the Shooting Star community of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The cabin features 4,000 square feet of living space, comprised of reclaimed timber, stacked stone and Cor-Ten steel. The dwelling is a mix of Old World craftsmanship with modern and rustic details, with whimsical interior styling carried out by Grace Home Design.

Hanging over the fireplace mantel in the living room was the object of inspiration for the project, a mixed-media painting of a pronghorn named “Wyatt”. The contemporary painting was a playful accent that set the tone for the color palette and interior design scheme of the cabin. Clean lined furnishings complement the traditional elements that were already residing in the home. Honey and caramel hues inspired the selection of fabrics and finishes that helps to infuse warmth into the living spaces.

Blues were also depicted from the artwork and can be seen in accents throughout the dwelling. Though the material elements are more rustic in nature, they play off as transitional, which made it easier to select furnishings of varying styles to decorate the interiors.

What We Love: The soaring ceilings in the living room with picture windows framing the rugged landscape beyond. The mix of wood and stone is breathtaking and the color palette makes this special home feel very warm and inviting. This mountain contemporary retreat would be a wonderful place to relax during holidays. Readers, what do you think? Would this be your idea of the perfect vacation home?
